Experimentally-induced early recruitment of CD14+ monocytes in human allergic rhinitis

چکیده
Background Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a complex inflammatory disorder where antigen presenting cells (APCs) are believed to activate allergen-specific CD4+ T cells at the site of allergen exposure. By sorting cells from the nasal mucosa in an experimental model of AR we have found, at the transcriptome level, that the total population of CD45+ HLA-DR+ cells showed signs of activation concomitant with an activated Th2 signature in purified CD4+ T cells. Bone marrow-derived APCs consists of many distinct subsets including dendritic cells (DC) and monocytes/ macrophages. The aim of this work was to study the trafficking of various APC subsets during the allergic inflammation.

CD14 as A Serum Immune Biomarker and Genetic Predisposition Factor for Allergic Rhinitis
Introduction: Allergic Rhinitis (AR) is a common inflammatory disease of the nasal mucosa. The CD14 is a receptor for lipopolysaccharide and inhaled endotoxin which can stimulate the production of interleukins by antigen presenting cells. Accordingly, CD14 plays an important role in allergic and atopic diseases, which can be one of the etiological factors for allergic diseases. The present stud...
متن کاملCD14 Directs Adventitial Macrophage Precursor Recruitment: Role in Early Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Formation
BACKGROUND Recruitment of macrophage precursors to the adventitia plays a key role in the pathogenesis of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs), but molecular mechanisms remain undefined. The innate immune signaling molecule CD14 was reported to be upregulated in adventitial macrophages in a murine model of AAA and in monocytes cocultured with aortic adventitial fibroblasts (AoAf) in vitro, concurr...
متن کاملInvestigating the frequency of adenoid hypertrophy and allergic rhinitis in children with mouth breathing complaints
Background and Objectives: Nocturnal snoring and open mouth breathing in children is one of the common causes of referrals to pediatricians. The two most common reasons of this problem are adenotonsillar hypertrophy and allergic rhinitis. Based on the findings, there is still no significant relationship between these two diseases. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the frequency ...
متن کاملGanoderma Lucidum Induces the Expression of CD40/CD86 on Peripheral Blood Monocytes
Background: The major immuno-modulating effects of Ganoderma lucidum include mitogenicity and activation of immune effector cells such as T cells, macrophages and natural killer cells resulting in the production of cytokines. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the expression of CD40 and CD80 by G. lucidum-treated human peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Methods: Monocytes wer...
متن کاملAltered Expression of IFN-λ2 in Allergic Airway Disorders and Identification of Its Cell Origins
This study investigated the expression levels of interferon- (IFN-) λ2 in peripheral blood and tissues. The results showed that the levels of IFN-λ2 were elevated by 17.9% and 14.2% in the plasma of allergic rhinitis (AR) and combined rhinitis with asthma (AR + AS), which was positively correlated with the level of tryptase but negatively correlated with the level of IL-10. IFN-λ2 was predomina...
